Buy Back Scheme

Our buy back scheme is aimed to reduce the amount of waste within the book world, but also giving back to readers who are trying to be more mindful.

Why is a buy back scheme so important? We all want shiny new books, but also to be kind to the environment. By buying pre-loved books from us, you get the new-book feeling while reducing the impact of the publishing industry on the environment.

What books are eligible for the buy-back scheme?

  • Books should be in a good condition, with little to no spine cracks or page damage, and should have been published within the last 3 years. This will be judged by the bookseller according to a set number of conditions, and Books and Bakes reserves the right to refuse to accept any book as part of our buy back scheme.
  • Books will also have been bought from Books and Bakes originally, so keep the receipt from the original purchase.

“What do I get out of this?”


  • For every eligible book you bring back to us, you will get a £1 voucher towards your new book purchase. You can use a maximum of 4 x £1 vouchers per new book.
